Hi to all,
I'm still waking up each morning with a fight within to lose weight and stay fit. I've lost a total of 53 lbs. since beginning my quest to lose weight. I am now 183 lbs. and a size 10 :) :) :) Yes, I'm feeling happy about that :)

I jumped on the treadmill in my jeans no less :) for a rebel run :) It bugs the crum out of me that the gym's won't let you exercise in jeans! I love running in my jeans! :) Ran 3 miles in 1 hr.

:) Mostly my normal routine of walking at a catch my breath of 3.0 around the corners and sprinting 7.0 on the straights except this time I was able to do 8.5 on the straights for 1 mile :) 5 miles on the treadmill in 1 hr. 15 minutes this morning.
Walked to the grocery store tonight and back for 2 miles but it got a little dark and I was anxious to get home.
I finished out 3 more miles on the treadmill in 55 minutes when I got home to total 10 miles for the day :)
Total: 224 Miles!

Happy Birthday to my very good friend Jennifer Lee :)
I got on the treadmill this a.m. and walked 10 miles! :) It was actually pretty easy except my left groin area wouldn't let me sprint past 7.0 I guess I better stretch more. The shin splints are gone and the right quad pain is gone, YES! :) Aside from the 1 mile I did at full incline at 3.2 I did the rest of my training, walking 3.0 on the curves and sprinted 7.0 on the straight ways. I didn't feel too sore which was nice but after taking a shower I laid down for a nap and slept 3 hours so I guess it pooped me out a bit.
So, 10 miles in 2 hrs. 27 min. for a 14:41 pace
Total: 214 Miles!

I walked/ ran 2 miles on the treadmill outside until it started raining :)
I walked/ran 6 miles this evening. I was feeling great except that my left groin area was holding me back with a bit of pain. I am happy to report that my shins are managing and my left quad isn't hurting anymore :) I tried my husbands idea of walking the curves on the track and sprinting the straights and this worked well except I didn't give it a shot until halfway through my workout. Happy about my pace for the distance :)

Oh yeah! I got a 10K in before breakfast :) My cousin Roxy reminded me to use the incline on the treadmill :) so I raised it as high as it would go and walked it at a 3.2 for 1 full mile. I was ready for my incline to be over at the .75 mark :) At the halfway mark of 6.4 miles I did the maximum incline again for 1 mile at 3.2 and it was tough. Everything else I mostly walked 3.5 for 1 lap and then 5.0 for 1 lap for a time of 1 hr. 41:30
I burned 950 calories and my breakfast was only 300 calories :) Who knows I may get some more miles in before the day ends :)
Well, apparently a 10K is only 6.2 miles so I did .2 more, oops, my bad :)
I did have 4 more miles in me this evening so I got back on the treadmill and did it :) I put my treadmill outside and got to watch all the funny people driving by who apparently don't see me :) I walked mostly at a 3.5 speed.
Total: 196 Miles!

Aha! Got 6 miles in today :) 4 miles running on the treadmill and 2 miles walking to the park and back with the kiddles :) They did awesome! I will make sure they get their rest before I take them again :)

Walked/ran 3.1 miles with my 5 yr. old to get coffee and a muffin and then finished walking 3.3 more miles on the treadmill to total a 10K :) My shins have been acting up as well as my front right quad so I've been trying different stuff to minimize this. Today I found a great rhythm to reduce this so instead of fast walking at 4.0 for a minute and then running at 6.0 for a minute and back and forth for 1 mile I decided to try walking at 3.5 for 1/2 lap and running at 6.5 and even 7.0 for the other half lap continuing for 1 mile and I could barely feel any strain in the shins :)
Total: 180 Miles!

Ran 2 miles on the treadmill in 29:00 minutes while the kids were napping and then when they woke up I put the baby in my Ergo and the other 3 walked along side me for 1 mile to the park and then daddy picked us up at the park which is a good thing because my oldest (10 yr. old) whose struggling with low functioning kidneys was having a hard time keeping up and gladly sat on the bench for a considerable length of time before getting another dose of energy :)

Well I attempted my 5K of 30 minutes but instead got a 42:50 minute 5K (3.2 miles) A 13:23 pace
But the good news is that the 1st mile I beat my original mile of 12:27 by almost a whole minute :) I did the first mile in 11:33 :) I was screaming in pain. I had thought I could run at a 5.0 speed and then sprint at 8.0 for each .10 of every lap but my right quad leg wouldn't let me go past a 7.5 I guess I need to work on my stretching more throughout the week :( At least now I know what my worst 5K looks like. I have a lot of work to do :)

Tonight I got to go to a last minute invite to see Cory/Corrigan Clay whose been living in Haiti for the last 2 years with his wife and kids as missionaries teaching the Haitians how to live a more sustainable life off their land while sharing the love of God. Corrigan and his family survived the earthquake and he's in Oregon this week sharing his personal stories. Go check out how they are living in Haiti at www.apparentproject.org

Well, it's looking like a half way point :) I thought I'd be farther along in my training by now but I'm still happy with my progress so far :) I really had no idea when I began back in October just how difficult my journey would be but I hoped for the best and just got started. I've lost a total of 23 lbs. and a considerable amount of inches and obviously gained muscle because how else can a girl who weighs nearly 200 lbs. run a 12:27 minute mile. I couldn't even hardly walk well let alone run when I started. I know one of my biggest faults is not tracking what I eat. Recently someone mentioned a good saying:
"If you Bite it, you Write it"
I need to remember this and what an easy rhyme to remember :)

Oh yeah! I rocked it out today on the pavement no less :)
8 miles in 2 hours and 30 minutes at a 18:45 pace :)
I tried to concentrate on endurance instead of speed today and get myself out on the concrete since ultimately that's where I'll be running the 26 miles on race day in October! I also was still recovering from shin splints because of running too fast last week and now instead of shin splints I'm feeling pain in my front right quad.

I got a late start this morning and wanted to be nice to the shins :) so I started off what would be 2 miles on the treadmill at a 3.0 and gradually worked my way up to a 4.0 doing just a light walk and a light jog. It took me 33:33 minutes.
Going to go eat brown rice, veggies and salmon for breakfast :) Jonathan's new diet you know :) Well new as in 3 1/2 months ago.

I liked my rhythm I found yesterday of fast walking 4.0 and then jogging at a 5.0 for the last .10 of each lap and so during the kids naptime I got on the treadmill and at least did 2 miles bumping up my 5.0 to a 5.5 and then a 6.0 but my shin's weren't too happy with me so I'm guessing 6.0 is a little too fast right now being that I weigh 195 lbs. This was a 13:12 pace today :)
I am really happy with my progress so far and I'm almost at the halfway mark till my marathon in October. April 10th marks the halfway mark!

:) I broke another record today! 2 miles in 24:54 which averages out to a 12:27 minute mile :)
I liked the skinny feeling of my legs in my jeans and feeling a bit motivated I got on the treadmill during the kids naptime and fast walk/jogged another 6 miles in 1 hr. 25:14 :) and it felt great! This is a 14:12 minute mile pace.
I fast walked at a 4.0 and then jogged the last .10 of each lap at a 5.0 for the full duration of 6 miles!
Total: 150 Miles!

No treadmill today. I was in slow motion today from being exhausted and having to look at all the housework that's still not done and no energy to finish it :( I'm sure the week will get better!

Wow! That puking must have been good for me because I broke another record today :) Did a 13:33 mile for a total of 27:06 in 2 miles! Oh Yeah! Oh Yeah! 3 Miles in 42:20 This puts me at a 14:06 pace :) I fast walked/slow jogged the 1st 2 miles at a 4.0 speed and then ran the last .10 of each lap at a 7.0 speed :)
I was panting pretty hard, wasn't a pretty sight and thought I might even throw up at the last lap.
It showed a 522 calorie burn so who knows maybe I'll get another 3 miles in tonight to total over 1,000 calorie burn :)

Oh Yeah! 3 Miles in 42:20 This puts me at a 14:06 pace :) I fast walked/slow jogged the 1st 2 miles at a 4.0 speed and then ran the last .10 of each lap at a 7.0 speed :)
I was panting pretty hard, wasn't a pretty sight and thought I might even throw up at the last lap.
It showed a 522 calorie burn so who knows maybe I'll get another 3 miles in tonight to total over 1,000 calorie burn :)

I've gotten caught up on my bloggings and am posting my new picture I took a month ago of me in a size 14 jean and my new medium size shirt :) I've been landlocked between 197 and 200 lbs. for over 6 weeks now and I'm sooo ready to break into the 170 and 180's wearing my size 10's and 12's!
And here's a good photo of how long my hair is getting.
It's only 4:30 so hopefully there is some treadmill in my near future for tonight :) I'll be sure to let the world know if I get this accomplished today :)

2 Miles in 30:38 :) I started off at 3.0, 3.5 and quickly got to 4.0 and stayed there for 30 minutes doing a light jog/fast walk and it felt oh so good, hardly broke a sweat, hmm, I see some more running in my near future :)

It's so nice to be starting a new month! I'm eager to get back on track with my exercise but satisfied and thrilled that our new eating habits have stuck :) Our diet changed drastically on December 17th with direction from our new Naturepathic Doctor we hired to help us recharge our sons Kidneys and get his immunity back up to normal for the 10 year old boy that he is and we're hopeful really for the 1st time in his life!
I've been stuck between 198-200 for a month now but at least it's not going in the upward direction. I've kept off 38 lbs. since January 2009 and look forward to some more weight loss :) It's so nice to be feeling alive again!

Well I have finally caught up to my blog day :) and back on track :) Thinking about my Grandma Marie today who passed away 5 years ago today, I sure miss her a bunch and still find myself crying because I want so bad to share my life with her and to hear her wise words and to see her beautiful smiles :) You were 81 1/2 years and I thought you were too young to die. I named my daughter after you and I try to live my life in ways that would have made you proud. You taught me so many valuable things in life and by the time I realized how much you had done for me you were gone. I Love You So Much Grandma and life just hasn't been the same without you in it. Grandpa Clarence has somehow learned to keep living even 5 years later and I'm so proud of how he's handled you not being there and I know you'd be proud of him. You both have blessed my life and helped me to be a better person. Thank you for all the ways you disciplined me to pay attention to the little things and big things in life. Elicia

I got to see some very special guests tonight and went out to dinner with them and my 2 small girls :) Had fun exchanging Valentines! I received a Beautiful Painting of an Enormous Tree that has tons of little leaves all over it that represents the Tree of Life and I Love It and even more the person who gave it to me, knowing I would love it! Thank you to my special friend :)

Recap for the months:
October: walking 2 miles every day but still eating whatever I'd always eaten, mostly junk looking back on it
November: finally got someone online to convince me that I needed to start calorie counting so I decided to go halfway and at least write down what I was eating, Wow, what a shocker! Still measuring but not weighing myself thinking I'd be fine but fudged and got on the scale only to see that I was still 218 pounds :(
December: still weighing in at 218 pounds but by the 10th of December I got a request from a friend, who only has 10-15 pounds to lose but also has 4 kids, asking if I'd count calories with her and give daily reports of my progress via email/facebook :) I started counting calories and had no idea how hard this would be and soon found out that I was eating 2300-2800 calories a day which explained my weight of previously getting all the way up to 236 pounds :( My friend Anya mentioned a good rule of thumb that I think is brilliant! If you add 10x your weight you'll discover how many calories you're consuming and if you add 10x the weight you want to be then you'll know how many calories you want to be example: 130 pounds would be 1300 calories so we started trying to keep our calories under 1200 and I soon got on http://www.livestrong.com/ website to help me count my calories better. There are over 450,000 different items already in their database :) At the end of December I had lost 10 pounds by calorie counting under 1200 calories and walk/ran 16 miles.
January: Lost a total of 6 pounds and about 2 more inches. Was able to finally shed the Larges and X-Larges in shirts and am now wearing a 14 dress pant and a 16 jean! I also should mention that we've been on a complete diet change because of my oldest sons very low functioning kidneys and low immune system so to be supportive to him and make it easier for mommy to give him what he needs without having to say no every time I turn around, we have gotten rid of every food item in the house that he can't have. I'll explain the diet another day but basically it's brown rice and fish with vegetables every day.

I haven't yet gotten on the treadmill but it's only 1:00 in the afternoon so it's still a possibility:) Doing very well on my diet and I've had a great friend to correspond with daily which is helping tremendously!

I think I'm going to walk today :)
I'm really liking this Proten-2-Go from the Biggest Loser! It really helps with the sugar cravings and getting the munchies all the time.
Oh yeah! Did 30 minutes on the treadmill at a 3.0 speed for 1.5 miles and then took a 30 minute bath :)
A friend of mine has struck a deal with me to go the next 2 weeks eating just 1200 calories a day and we've got a good plan to make it happen :) We're going to measure the waist and weigh in and see if we get results. Of course any exercise we can add each day would be helpful.
Total: 118.5 Miles

No walking today.
I did want to note that I really like the raspberry flavored Protein 2go. I'm taking 2 of the Calorie Burner capsules just one time a day at lunch because I found that taking just 1 didn't quite feel like it was working well enough.
Garage Sale tomorrow, keeping my fingers crossed. I've never done a garage sale during winter weather and I'm not even sure if people go garage saling :)

No exercise today. Well, I cleaned out the garage some more and took care of my kids for exercise but no treadmill.
Losing weight is a doozy of a job and blogging about it is no easy task either. I want this to be as real as possible and very doable at the same time so I'm brainstorming :) I love brainstorming :) It gets the creative juices flowing. I'm pretty Wild at Heart and I love a good challenge but I usually have to find my own way of doing it :)
I love writing and sharing my heart but blogging about it with my heart wide open is trickier than I thought and I'm thinking not completely the route for me. I want to turn this journey into a book and share my heart with the world but I'm thinking that writing this like a book and having it critiqued nearly every day while I'm writing it is excruciating.
I'm going to try and continue to share the stats and updated pictures monthly but I'm going to write my journey from my heart separate from my blog each day and turn it into a book at the end of the year.
Staying strong and keeping my chin up :)

Well, I did it again :) woke up at 5:00am after going to bed 2 days in a row at 9:00pm :) and now I'm getting ready to go to bed again by 9:00pm :) This is working!!!
I did my 2 miles on the treadmill this morning. I stopped by Rite Aid to try out Jillian's Calorie Burner capsules. It says to take 2, 15 minutes before your meal so I did but it made my heart race kind of fast so I tried taking just 1 tonight before dinner. I'll experiment with it and hopefully it will help keep the fat burning and keep me on track with what I'm already doing. I thought I was looking for a shake but maybe I was wrong.
I got my refill on Alkaline water today from my good friends at http://www.coloncarepdx.com/
We like to call it "Magic Water" It really makes drinking water so good :)

I'm very happy to say that I got on my treadmill tonight and walked 2 miles in 37:54 minutes at an average of 3.2 speed. It feels good to be getting back on track. Last week was brutally emotional for whatever reasons it doesn't matter, what does matter is that I got through it and I'm exercising again!
I'm curious about the new vitamin/fat burning shake that Jillian is selling and may try it. I need something that's for sure :)

I'm hoping to get a good nights sleep and get up in the morning at 5:00am for my normal routine of exercise in the morning and start this week off right!
The house is nearing perfection for a steady routine of life and it's making me smile from the inside out :) The stuff in the house is is either in order, out the door or almost in order and I love it!
I moved the couch away from the T.V. and into another room so that I'll have room to workout with my kids with our steppers and 3 lb. weights. I'm also hoping the hubby will want to work out with me at night :)
We also almost have the garage in order for a garage sale next weekend. Kayla wants to have her own hot chocolate and apple cider booth to make her own money :)
My Total miles: Still 113 Miles so far!

Apparently I'm taking a short sabbatical from walking on my treadmill :) I'm sure it won't last long.
Getting rid of a few items in the house and it feels good :) I like getting rid of stuff, it makes me feel free and peaceful.
I'm still looking for those angels! I wonder if anyone out there believes in angels?

I'm having fun ripping papers off the walls, taking pictures of goods to sell on Craig's list and hopefully a garage sale this weekend! In other words we're getting rid of stuff we don't really need or use much just so we can have a little less.
I talked to the hubby about Weight Watchers and he doesn't seem too impressed with the idea. He says it's just more talk and not enough action. He says I need to be burning about 4,000 calories and thinks it would be a better route to purchase the 24 Hr. Fitness 2 yr. membership from Costco for $299.99 which ends up being $12.00 a month. I think he's probably right but I still need help on what to feed myself and my family. I wish I could say I know exactly what to feed everybody, everyday but that would be a lie. Apparently I'm supposed to just know this just because I'm a human being and I happen to be a girl but how are you supposed to know something you were never taught? I am utterly frustrated with this stereotypical nonsense of how women are just supposed to know stuff! The reason women knew these things back in the day is because their "mother's" taught them! And that's all I have to say about that. Maybe I'll get an angel soon who will miraculously teach me these things I'm suppsed to know.

I had a lazy, relaxing day with NO exercise. I don't know if this is a good thing but it's happened anyway and I'm starting to get a clear picture that unless I get to bed by 9:00 to get up at 5:00 and get my exercise in, it's next to impossible to find the motivation to exercise. I've been doing it but it feels like I've been doing the impossible and how long can someone keep up the impossible?
I checked out the advice someone gave me of Weight Watchers today and found out that there is a lot of support for it in my area and if I can find a decent emphasis on the vegetarian way of eating the Weight Watchers way then I'll jump in :) It costs $35-40 a month for a membership which is what I'll need with 80 lbs. to lose. I'm also considering more options on physical exercise because walking on the treadmill just isn't giving me enough calorie burn. I need more bang for my buck until I can get this weight off and focus on my running abilities. It feels like I'll never get to my marathon running abilities at the rate I'm going so I need to change things up a bit.

I was off schedule all day, ughh. I didn't track what I ate and I was just plain tired.
I got on my treadmill finally at 10:15pm and walked slowly 2 miles in 55 minutes while I talked on the phone. I did not feel like getting on the treadmill today. It was just an Off Day. I guess those kind of days happen sometimes.
I hope tomorrow is a wonderful productive day!

Oh boy, I'm cutting it close again. I finally got on the treadmill at 10:40pm and walked 2 miles in 40 minutes.
Just a lot going on lately. I have some new ideas and things I'm preparing for. The most recent thing coming up is a Garage Sale :) I don't think I've ever done a Garage Sale around Thanksgiving but I have a son whose been sick for 10 years and we've finally found a Doctor who says he can be well again in 6 months to a year and so we're looking for ways to raise money on behalf of his little life. We are looking to down size to cut cost and to cut back on maintenance so we can focus more on his treatments and getting Jonathan well :) This Garage Sale is just an effort to get the ball rolling in the direction of raising money to the Cause of Jonathan's Healthy Future! I Love you Son and "Where There's a Will, There is Always a Way".
My water today was: 64 ozs.

I'm feeling exhausted at 11:11pm tonight, need to go to bed.
I woke up and got my 2 miles in this morning :)
I weighed myself at 215 lbs. so I lost 3 lbs. in 6 days, that's a good start. I'll weigh again on December 22nd and hopefully 4 weeks will give me a good number :) I'm far from being out of the woods yet!
I look forward to hearing other peoples ideas :) so shoot!

- 20 almonds,
- peppermint tea, 0 calories :)
- 2 slices toast w/butter & honey,

I had a nonstop cleaning house day! Now I remember why I don't like cleaning bathrooms, it takes too long :)
I got on the treadmill around 7:30pm and did 2 miles in 34:54 minutes!
I wanted to mention that I found it disgustingly interesting to see that it took me 2 1/2 miles to walk off just 3 BBQ Honey Chicken Wings for the fat calories :( That's entirely too long to walk just for 3 BBQ Honey Chicken Wings! Fat calories total 100 for those little boogers.

Oh boy! Last night was a late nighter because of hubby's work and then today there was so much going on that I somehow didn't get a bite to eat until 2:00pm. I stopped by Big Town Hero Sandwich shop and when I asked them for a list of the calories in their food they said they didn't know what the calorie count was in their food so I asked the guy to go ask his manager and he came back with the answer, "We won't get our list until January and then by law we don't have to publish it for a year". That right off the bat tells me they have might have a lot of calories they are trying to hide. I ordered the sandwich we've liked in the past and went home to look it up on the interenet only to find that yes indeed there is a list of Big Town Hero calories for their sandwiches except for the one I ate, Verry Berry Turkey. http://www.bigtownhero.com/

My food consumption:
- 12" Very Berry Turkey sandwich from Big Town Hero I'm estimating around 800 calories, 20 fat calories

Hello All, November 18th, 2009
I'm constantly amazed to see that I've squeezed a 2 mile walk/jog each day even on days when the time keeps ticking away to that midnight hour and I just don't think I can manage to get on that treadmill versus going to bed :)
I walk/jogged 2 miles on the treadmill in 38 minutes tonight starting at 9:15pm while everyone else was in bed except the 18 month old who decided he wanted to be awake so I put him in the walker and had to get off the treadmill periodically to get him a toy to play with and something to munch on. Being interrupted all the time isn't something I really enjoy but apparently it's a way of life.
Water consumption: 64 ozs.
Here's my menu of what I consumed today as promised :)
-1/2 cup oatmeal w/buttter, sugar, cinnamon, 277 calores, 25 fat calories
-1 Braeburn apple, 80 calories, 0 fat calories
-1 Cedar Lane Three layer Enchilada Pie, Gluten free 430 calories, 120 fat calories
-1cup lowfat vanilla yogurt, 250 calories, 25 fat calories
-3 Honey BBQ Glazed Wings, 180 calories, 100 fat calories
-2 slices whole wheat toast w/butter & honey, 360 calories
-1 orange, 85 calories, 0 fat calories
-1 cup tuna/chicken spaghetti w/ 1 Tbsp. sour cream on top, 300 calories

I woke up at 5:00am and got on the treadmill at 6:00am for a 2 mile walk/jog in 38 minutes.
I didn't do terribly hot on my water intake today @ 68 ozs.
I am beginning to see the importance of at least being accountable to log my food intake. I'm not much of a calorie counter especially if it's not labelled. For instance, how are you supposed to count the calories of a meal when you've been invited to share dinner at a friend's house? And have you ever heard of calorie labels on apples, oranges, avocadoes, carrots and such? It just seems quite complicated and I need simple! While I'm figuring out simple, I will at least commit to being honest about my intake and you may find me willing to measure my food with 1 cup portions and such.
This weight loss crap is such a journey and one I hope to tackle and NEVER have to repeat.

Good Morning, November 16th, 2009
I woke up at 5:00am and got on the treadmill at 6:00 for a 2 mile walk that took 43 minutes.
I've already drank 36 ozs. of water this morning so it should be a good day for water consumption :) Here's a great website I found http://www.weightlossforall.com/
I have a confession to make. I've really struggled with the purpose of getting on that scale and seeing numbers I don't like that won't go away. I thought I was going to be able to kick the habit of weighing myself but, yep there's the butt :), but so many things in life require that you know your weight. I felt an overwhelming temptation to step on that scale and see a hopeful progress and instead I was devestated! A whopping 218 lbs. and I am feeling sooooo frustrated but mostly just aggressive. I don't lose easily and I'm now in a Big Fight to show my body who the Master is :) I am the Master of my own body!
So, a juicing here we go :) Most of what I know from juicing comes from watching my parents juice growing up, trying it from time to time myself and listening to "The Juiceman" on cassettes. I haven't really met a lot of people that try it out but I've read about lots of people juicing for life and really loving it. I figure I might as well give it an honest shot if I expect to run this marathon next year because I'm certainly not going to run 26 miles weighing over 200 lbs. I will weigh myself each month on the 22nd when I measure with my red ribbon for inches and hopefully now I'll begin to see great results!
Now that I'm beginning to get up at 5:00am and posting my miles before noon I'll probably starting adding a bit of the rest of my day before I go to bed.
It's 10:24am and I've had about 6 ozs. of carrot/apple juice and of course some more water. Time to go juice a bit more before any hungry girgles begin.
Total: 94.3 miles

I finally got on the treadmill at 8:45pm and walked 2 miles in 42:43 minutes. Not my best time but I'm trying to prove that everything counts and it's just a matter of getting it done and not always in how fast you can get it done.
I'm beginning to track my water intake and so today my total is: 108 ozs.
I wouldn't be surprised if I start juicing soon for maximum feel good results. I'm not sure how much my audience knows about the benefits of juicing but you're about to find out :)

I'm happy to say that I walked/jogged 10 miles today! Thanks so much to my husband for watching the kids :)
I left the house around 12:30pm with a specific route planned out along the sidewalks, knowing that I wanted to walk more then the 4.9 miles I walked on Thursday and hopefully twice that. It took me 3 hours to get home and after crashing and re-energizing, I took the car out to track how many miles I went. It was exactly 9 miles so I marched straight in the house and walked an extra mile on the treadmill to make it a 10 :) It would have bothered me all night to know I was that close.
Total: 90.3 miles

Good Morning all, November 13th, 2009
Woke at 5:00 to the alarm clock and got on the treadmill at 6:00 to do a very slow 43 minute walk of 2 miles :)
Took a shower, got my oldest up to take his shower and then ate an apple and some pumpkin seeds while I got myself updated on the computer.
A friend just recently mentioned a great way to motivate your training. Stacy Hull just logged 1,000 miles for the year, awesome! I tallied mine since I began October 10th and the number is 80.3 miles! I wonder if I can catch up to her :) I like a good competition :)

I had an interesting workout today :) I've been trying to figure out how to get some more walking miles in with all 4 kids by myself, preferrably outdoors. My plan was to somehow get all 4 kids in my 3 seater jogger that you can either pull behind a bicycle or push with a front wheel attached and I was doing great until the last mile home and when the front wheel wouldn't twist like it was supposed to to let me go forward, it snapped. I had to figure out how to balance it without the front wheel attached with 3 kids in it for the last mile. Thankfully daddy was with us and he was able to help keep Kayla going somehow. Well, so much for that idea.
I did get 4.9 miles out of it today :)
The only idea that's out on the table now is to drive to the park with all 4 kids, put Isaac in my Ergo and run laps while the kids play. I wish I could come up with something more exciting. Thankfully I still have my treadmill.

Today was a tough day. I was just plain cranky.
I got on my treadmill finally at 9:30 pm and figured I'd get my 2 miles in somehow. I started off at a 2.5 speed and slowly inched my way up to 3.2 speed finishing in 43:25 minutes.
I sure hope this exercising every day pays off because it sure is difficult to stay disciplined.
Sweet dreams everyone :)

I ran for quite awhile tonight beating my time :) 2 miles in 34 minutes, which is 17 minute miles :) Yes! :) I continued to walk an extra mile going at a 3.2 speed to finish out what would be a 5K to see what my time would be. I finished in 57:17 and without any potty stops :)
2 more days till my new picture for the month :)

Today I focused mostly on getting the laundry caught up, the dishes and the vacuuming. I did manage to get my 2 miles in this evening around 9:15, stretched just a little, jumped in the shower :) and now I'm off to bed.
I'm excited about taking a new picture on November 10th to show a bit of improvement. In 1 months time of just exercising at least 2 miles a day, I've gone from an XL to a L in my shirts and from a size 18/20 in my jeans to a size 16.
I look forward to each month's progress!

I've been feeling like I'm in a bit of rut with my minimum of 2 miles a day and so tonight I got on the treadmill to do my 2 miles after the kids went to bed and I decided to go an extra mile to get my butt in gear :) I did 3 miles in 56 minutes if you don't count the walk upstairs to change out the laundry and a couple quick stops to the bathroom probably because of the dumb coffee I had today.
Anyway, love you all! Keep exercising everybody :)

My life is screaming for schedule! Go to bed @ 9:30, get up @ 5:30 but boy has this been hard to stick to. I'll be so glad when I grow another back bone to be able to look anyone in the face and say, "I love you and I'm going to bed, see you at the butt crack of dawn". :)
I barely got my exercise for today. At 9:15 pm I dragged my butt to the treadmill and walked for 40 minutes, doing 2 miles. I'm routinely a sucker for distractions and I hate that about me. Need to change, need to change :)
Well, almost 1 month down and 11 more to go :) I know from ancient experience that this gets easier after month 2 for me, we shall see.

Hello all,
I look back on 11 years of my life of gaining weight and not finding a way to exercise each day and I am sad that I couldn't figure it out and make it happen. I would have never guessed that staying fit would be so hard to maintain after getting married and having kids. Learning how to maintain myself while building new relationships has been almost the most difficult thing I've had to learn so far.
Anyway, I got my 2 miles in this morning but barely. I've been too busy in my personal life lately and with going to bed around 10:30 just made me too sleepy to jump up and hit that treadmill this morning.
Every day is getting a little easier and I know that another month of this and I'm going to start feeling pretty happy with myself :)
Deciding to exercise Every Day and not just 5 or 6 days a week has been the best decision I've made in a very long time!

I had a happy 2 mile walk around 4:00 pm in my new workout clothes :)
I got my 1st check yesterday as a distributor for Winalite/Love Moon Pads and I am of course thrilled to pieces!!! $170 isn't too shabby if you ask me :) for a stay at home mom of 4 :) I also got a $121 check from the consignment clothes I sold! Hi,
I'm happy to say, I got my workout done before noon again :) 2 miles in 35:16 , except the hubby says it doesn't count because I took a potty break halfway through :) Despite the potty break I still did 18 minute miles and I ran at a 7.0 today!!! I'm doing good! Chris says I should put a timer next to my treadmill to count the real time if I have to stop to go pee. Okay, so he's probably right. So, I guess that means yesterday's run didn't count because I had to stop halfway through to go make breakfast for my husband. Whatever!
I say, "Where There's a Will, There's Always a Way". I have 4 kids and a husband to take care of, oh yeah, and myself and the point is, I'm getting it done, every day!

Hi :) October 30th, 2009
I woke up this morning a little before 7:00 and got on my treadmill @ 7:15, Yay! I walked 1 mile before getting off the treadmill briefly to fix the hubby a milkshake and peanut butter and jelly sandwich and then hopped back on to finish the 2nd mile after he left for work.
It feels so much better to get my exercise in before the kids wake up and start my day. Now if I can just do this every day then I'm good to go :) preferrably @ 5:30 or 6:00 and then I can do 3 miles each day :)
I have vegetable/bean soup in the crockpot for dinner :) Probably whip together a chicken salad as well :)

Day 20 (345 days to go)
Hello all,
I held 5 lb. weights for the entire 2 miles going at speed 3.0 for 40 minutes and it felt good :) I could feel the muscles stretching in my shoulders.
I'm off to bed :) Hopefully a strict and healthy schedule will stick :)

Day 19 (346 days to go)
Hi,
I walked a lazy 2 miles while talking on the phone to basically walk off the shin splints I was experiencing from yesterday :) Those things are a booger. I hate shin splints!
I am noticing a considerable amount of extra bounce in my step from my muscles getting stronger :) and I'm noticing a strength in my assertiveness which is not always accepted very well by those who are used to getting what they want. This part of losing weight is quite uncomfortable to experience and I remember it well from past experiences of losing weight. I really hate making people feel uncomfortable but it sure feels good to lose weight and feel more energy!

I smoked my time today :) 35:28 in 2 miles
Looks like I'm down to 18 minute miles :) Hey, I just realized it's my 18th day and I ran an 18 minute mile!!!
I also walked with 5 lb. weights today :) the only time I didn't hold the weights is when I was running really fast, that will have to be another day :)

Day 17 (348 days to go)
Hi all,
9:43 pm and I just finished my 2 miles for today :) I did it in my regular time of 40 minutes going at a 3.0 speed, holding 4 lb. weights. I think tomorrow I'd like to see myself holding 5 lb. weights :) I suppose if I get good at this walking with weights thing then I'll have to go buy some more weights. I don't have anything past 5 lbs.
I'll also be glad when I get rid of this excess weight and I can just enjoy the run :)

Day 16 (349 days to go)

Well, it's still a bit difficult to make myself fit in workout time each and every day but I still believe it's do-able :) and I still have High Hopes that it will pay off!
I had a busy friend weekend and so was distracted by friendly entertainment but still managed to squeeze in a must do 2 mile walk/jog.
Tonight was especially difficult as 9:30 pm rolled around and I still had not done my workout for today. I beggingly (is that a word? ) asked my husband to be supportive with getting my 2 miles in for today. It took a bit of conversation to explain in detail what exactly I was talking about but in the end he figured out what kind of support I was asking for in my "girl language" and stepped up to the plate, for which I'm very grateful for :) Chris stood by the treadmill and politely encouraged me to do just a little better and in some cases I surprised him and did even better then better with a sprint at 6.5 :) Chris helped me get a couple of my laps down to 4 1/2 minutes. So, if I can get my laps down to 4 minutes then I'll achieve a new time of 2 miles in 36 minutes.
Each day does get better! It is getting quite apparent though that sugar and high fat foods are not welcome in my diet anymore. I'm having a love/hate about this fact.
I love you all and I hope that my journaling is somehow helping!

Day 15 (350 days to go)
Hi :)
I did the 2nd part of my 20 minute workout with Stormie Ormatian video with all 4 of my kids there helping me out :) I didn't do so bad. I then walked a very slow 2 miles just because I could :) and I was talking on the phone with my dad :)
I've noticed that my body is feeling more flexible and I'm moving around a lot quicker :)

Day 13 (352 days to go)
Hello all,
I got my exercise in this early afternoon because my oldest daughter Kayla has an end of the year soccer party and I wasn't sure I'd get home in time to make it happen.
It looks like I'm getting better every day :) Today's workout: 2 miles in 37 minutes 17 seconds. I walked almost 1 mile of that on a 3.5 speed and I held 4 lb. hand weights today. I could definitely feel the stretching of my upper back and shoulders, so 4 lbs. is good :) I could feel my shin splints wanting to attack so I had to slow down the 3.5 before I wanted to. My aim is not to kill myself working out but to pace myself.
I heard them say on "Biggest Loser" the other night that they are working out 6 hours a day. I can't imagine ever having that luxury on a daily basis. I can see myself having that opportunity once a week if need be but I'm pretty sure they have to sit down with ice packs all over their legs for quite awhile after each workout which I also don't have the luxury of.
I still have a LOT to learn about proper diet and what to fix every body, every day. As I learn it, I'll share it :) One thing I've noticed that's helping considerably is to have organic apples on hand and raw almonds and when I get hungry for a snack it feels great!

Day 12 (353 days to go)
Hello all,
Today was mostly a grumpy day and so I could tell that I was going to need to force an exercise out of me :) Around 2:30 I jumped on the treadmill w/ my 3# hand weights and did my minimum of 2 miles in 40 minutes while I fumed over what was going on in my head. Did I mention I was feeling grumpy? :) ha ha Well, it's a good thing I have a workout to do every day for instances like this or else I'd have to go off on somebody. Just to be sure, it didn't have anything to do with my husband or kids thankfully :)
I wonder if everyone has that one person in their life that just grates them no-matter how much you try to ignore the way they make you feel?
On a happier note :) I got to do my pre-buy from the consignment sale and at the end of the day I noticed that with $400 of my stuff in inventory, $59.50 sold, Yay! I spent $118 at the consignment tonight and feel very happy with what I got to buy :) For those of you might wonder what I'm talking about, go check it out http://www.bbdsale.com/

Day 11 (354 days to go)
What a day! Hello Everyone :)
Somehow I got 201 baby items tagged and ready for this week's Fall Sale. I had to have my stuff turned in by 7:30 pm tonight. As I was driving home I was tempted to go through a drive-thru to feed the growling stomach from today's no-eat, drink lots of coffee, get the job done day :) Ha!
So because I have kids at home it's sometimes difficult to get one's needs met when you have little people around saying, "Mommy help me, Mommy do this, Mommy do that, Mommy can I have a drink of water". Yes, so difficult to say, "Mommy has to eat something first". So because of this dilemma of not knowing how to say NO to them it's much easier to eat something before I get home but difficult to find something healthy to eat so tonight I just came home with the thought that I could just grab an apple and pop in a slice of toast w/peanut butter & jelly on it so that's what I did :) I don't know how healthy the peanut butter & jelly was for me but at least I didn't have to spend any money and it's probably healthier than the vanilla milkshake and Big'N'Tasty w/cheese that I was going to eat.
I sat down to eat and then thinking I should let the food settle before working out I remembered that tonight was "Biggest Loser" show so I turned on the T.V. a little after 8:00 to relax which was much needed tonight :) At 9:00 I was still a bit hungry so I ate an avocado and then at 10:00 I dragged my butt to the treadmill for my workout today.
I thought I was just going to do the barney basic 2 miles in 40 minutes and call it done but I did much better :) I carried 3 lb. weights in each hand and did my workout for a record break of 37 minutes 33 seconds. My legs are definitely feeling better and are ready for some sprinting :) I fast walked at a 3.0 for the 1st mile and a 3.3 for the 2nd mile.
Don't peek if you get grossed out easily but here's another Just Do It example. I realized halfway into my workout that I wasn't, Oh never mind, you probably can't handle it :)
