Hello Everyone :)
Um, ow, the leg muscles have been screaming at me for 2 days. I find myself stretching off an on all day because they just keep nagging at me.
I have to admit I was dragging my feet all day and finally got on the treadmill at 9:00 and walked my minimum of 2 miles in 40 minutes.
I'm working on printing and tagging well over 200 items of clothing to sell for consignment tomorrow and it's a bit distracting.
Anyway, just trying to pace myself until I get through this week's worth of distractions :)

Day 9 (356 days to go)
I Did It!
20 minutes for the first part of Stormia Ormatian's, Exercise For Life, video :) It wasn't quite as easy as when I was 17 but it's a good start for someone in their 30's who really hasn't worked out much in 10 years :)
I also walked 3 miles on my treadmill today! It took me just under 1 hour but I think a good goal for the weekends. Saturday and Sunday will probably be good days for me to practice my 5, 10, 15, 20 mile runs this year :)
Another idea I have is to get plugged in with Portland's running teams. Finding anyone that runs at 4:00 or 5:00 am would be a good thing for me since I don't like running in the dark by myself :)

Day 8 (357 days to go)
Hello All,
Today's workout: 2 miles on the treadmill in 38 minutes plus I added another 1/2 mile so it was a total of almost 50 minutes.
My plan was to add a stretching video from an old time favorite from almost 20 years ago that was done by Stormie Omartian but I got caught up in too much fun with making a new friend :) and didn't get home in time to pop in the video. The video is so old and doesn't come on DVD form but really seemed to do the trick when I was in my late teens. There are 3 sections of stretching cardio that are each in 20 minute sections that get more difficult. I remember being able to do the whole hour with no problem but I doubt it will be true for me now. I will be interested to see how many weeks it will take before I can do the whole thing :) We shall see!
Well, I'm off to bed before I turn into a Pumpkin :) Good Night World!

Day 7 (358 days to go)
Todays workout: 2 miles on the treadmill (39 minutes 20 seconds)
Today was another "Just Get It Done" Day. It was dinner time and still no workout for the day so I put on my running shoes and just got on the treadmill in my jeans and t-shirt while dinner was in the oven cooking and daddy played magnetix with the kids on the floor :)
Mental note from last nights bedtime is to give hubby a kiss and quickly go to bed before I get engrossed in whatever it is he's doing or watching on T.V. I was ready to go to bed before my 10:00 curfew but went downstairs to say goodnight and feeling a little bad because the youngest one was still not apparently ready for bed, I sat down on the couch and got glued to the T.V. I finally got in bed a little after 11:00 but that won't work for getting up @ 5:00 am.
Good night all :) I look forward to tomorrow's addition to the workouts :)

Day 6 (359 days to go)
Today's workout: 2 miles on the treadmill in 38 minutes 40 seconds. I ran at a 6.0 for 1/2 a lap.
I can see that this week's goal has been to just Keep Moving! I don't know what I expected the first week but I'm pleased to see that it wasn't too difficult to just Get Moving for a minimal sweat each day :)
I have an idea of something to add to my workout starting Saturday and I will let everyone know how it goes :)
Some ideas of adding strength is to get to bed by 10:00 each night and up every morning @ 5:00 am. Sticking to a sleep schedule should help me tremendously!
Another idea that I can see will be tremendously helpful to my strength and stamina is figuring out an affordable healthy food schedule. Well, there's that schedule word again :)

Day 5 (360 days to go)
It's almost midnight and I nearly forgot to post my day :)
Today's workout was 2miles on the treadmill in 40 minutes but it was a slightly different workout in that today I lived out the meaning of Just Do It! It was 3:30 in the afternoon, the kids were playing, I was wearing jeans and I just decided to grab the moment and get on the treadmill even though I wasn't wearing what one would call appropriate attire :)
I met a new inspiring person tonight and we talked for an hour and a half sharing ideas with each other. So exciting! I love people!

Day 4 (361 days to go)
Hello to all as I try to wonder who might be reading this!
I'm thinking of all the stories in my life that have finally gotten me here. Here being a place of peace and focus. Here being a place that is confidently me no matter what it is I'm working on in life :)
I'm thinking of all the people that have played important roles in my life for the good, the awful and sometimes just a whisper of a smile from a complete stranger :) I look forward to taking the time to write down all those names and strange circumstances, of names I do not know and acknowledging thanks!
Every day that I step into this blog I get more and more excited as I practice sharing my journey. I hope my life helps someone out there feel like trying a little harder on whatever is difficult in their life. I hope my life helps many people know that they are loved! Whoever you are, you are loved :)
I have a lot to still work out ( ha ha ) with what I'm going to eat. Knowing what I should eat to keep me focused yet happy and energetic without stressing and being within a tight budget has always been my hurdle that I have yet to jump over.
Today's workout: 2 miles on the treadmill. (I noticed my time was 37 minutes) Looks like I've got a lot of work cut out for me.

Day 3 (362 days to go)
I look forward to updating noticeable picture changes at least monthly!
This morning I woke up at 5:00am to go walking with 2 friends. We walked 4 miles with jogging a small portion.
I don't have a whole lot of detailed ideas on how I'm going to go about my goals, except to JUST DO IT!
In June of 2009 I got fed up with the dang weight scale because I found it to be annoyingly obsessive and for WHAT? I've weighed myself since I was very young and it's never done anything good for me. I typically weighed myself morning and night only to be discouraged by a 1or 2 pound weight gain and really in the end causing me to feel as though I was definitely focusing on the wrong stuff for success so I finally said, NO MORE, I'm Changing My Thinking!
A friend of mine encouraged me to measure my success with a ribbon and so that is what I started doing July 20th, 2009 and every month on that day I put the red ribbon around the largest part of my waist and mark it with a black marker labeling the date and measuring my success. I have my red ribbon thumbtacked hanging on the wall with the black marks inching their way up to success and it's very encouraging, allowing me to free my mind of that stress and focus my thoughts more on, "when did I have a glass of water last, when was the last time I ate some protein and vegetables and what kind of aggressive calorie burn have I had for the day."
I look forward to hearing some of my friends ideas on what to eat during the day. Does anyone out there have a simple plan?

Day 2 (363 days to go)
Hello to all who will one day read this :)
Right now my goal is to do some kind of focused activity every day for about an hour a day like walking, running, aerobics, swimming. I would do a sport if my kids could join me but that's not likely with 4 small children. I look forward to brainstorming ideas of exercise that keep my children involved with me. It's so frustrating to be doing some kind of exercise that leaves them out while they just have to sit there and watch and be bored. My kids are 1, 3, 5 & 10. We have a little bit of nice weather still but not for long as winter gets closer.
Today my exercise was 2 miles on the treadmill!

Day 1 (364 days to go)
I know what I'm really made of and now it's time to give it all I've got! Today is the 1st day in my journey to learn how to prepare for a marathon in 1 year while raising 4 small children. My body swung out of control with bad diet and stress in learning how to balance motherhood and now it's time to whip it back into submission and get the most out of life!
I hope you will join me with ideas and that my story will encourage you this year to grab life by the reins for whatever it is you want to conquer in life and Live Life To The Fullest!
Today I walked 2 miles on the treadmill!
